D23 2022: Stitch – Rock Star
Floodborn in Amber — the portfolio’s loudest specimen
2/P1 · folio slot photography forthcomingIf Mickey was the weekend’s free handshake, Stitch was the folio’s opening act — cost 6, lore 3, and a beachside concert that somehow fits an entire alien into a Super Rare silhouette. Collector number 2/P1. Amber ink. Floodborn Alien Hero. The only Floodborn face in the entire D23 Expo seven-card bed, which is either poetic casting or a rock star refusing to share the stage with lesser classifications.
Shift 4 lets him arrive fashionably late on top of another Stitch. ADORING FANS turns every cheap character you play into a possible encore: play something costing 2 or less, exert it, draw a card. The flavor text refuses to apologize for the crowd control: “The best part about a beachside concert is that there’s always room for one more.”

Creator signatures (aftermarket): Co-designers Ryan Miller & Steve Warner were at the booth; Miller was widely reported excitedly talking with fans and autographing cards (TheGamer D23 interview). A Floodborn who quests like the encore never ends. Adoring Fans is the scientific justification for packing the board with inexpensive openers: the crowd pays you back in cards.
Promo vs. retail twin (diagnostic traits)
The retail twin arrives later in The First Chapter as Super Rare 23/204 — same Sibaya art family, same core kit — without the convention archaeology. Wording was lightly polished for retail (Shift / Adoring Fans clarity; ink-symbol presentation standardized).
